The Green Goddess Margarita—aka Diosa Verde—is a smoky, herb-forward margarita riff that drinks like a tropical garden walk. Mezcal (or a zero proof mezcal alternative) brings depth, Chartreuse adds alpine intensity, and pineapple + lime keep everything bright and crushable.

This is a “green” margarita that actually earns the name: Mezcal smoke, Chartreuse botanicals, pineapple lift, and crisp lime—all dialed in with Top Hat Agave Nectar for clean sweetness and consistent balance. Shake, strain, garnish, and you get a bar-quality cocktail that feels culinary without being complicated.
Method
- Fill a rocks glass with fresh ice and set aside.
- Add 1.5–2 oz Mezcal or Zero Proof Mezcal Alternative to a shaker.
- Add 0.25 oz Chartreuse.
- Add 1 oz pineapple juice.
- Add 1 oz fresh pressed lime juice.
- Add 1 oz Top Hat Agave Nectar.
- Fill the shaker with ice and shake hard for 8–10 seconds.
- Strain over fresh ice into the prepared rocks glass.
- Garnish with sliced cucumbers and fresh basil.
Pro move: Start at 1.5 oz mezcal for a greener, more botanical balance—and bump to 2 oz when you want the smoke to lead. Lightly slap the basil before garnishing to wake up the aromatics.
