TRANSFUSION BATCHING RECIPE

The Transfusion is the golf course cocktail — vodka, Concord grape, ginger, and lime, carbonated on CO₂. Built for high-volume service at tournaments, sporting events, and outdoor venues. Choose Original Ginger Beer Syrup for a classic Transfusion or Extra Spicy for a bolder, heat-forward version.

Concord grape juice is the character ingredient — it has a deep, almost jammy quality that balances beautifully against the ginger heat and bright lime. On CO₂, the carbonation keeps the Transfusion light and refreshing even in the heat. The choice between Original and Extra Spicy depends on your crowd: Original for broad appeal, Extra Spicy for the golfers who want a real kick.

Ingredients — 5-Gal Keg

  • 5 liters - Vodka or Zero Proof Spirit Alternative
  • 3 qts - Top Hat Original Ginger Beer Syrup or Extra Spicy
  • 48 oz - Concord Red Grape Juice
  • 16 oz - Fresh Lime Juice
  • 9 qts - Water (to be carbonated)
  • Garnish - Fresh lime wheel & fresh mint

Batch Method

  1. Add 5 liters Vodka to a clean 5-gallon Cornelius keg.
  2. Add 3 qts Top Hat Ginger Beer Syrup (Original or Extra Spicy).
  3. Add 48 oz Concord red grape juice.
  4. Add 16 oz fresh lime juice.
  5. Add 9 qts cold filtered water.
  6. Seal the keg and shake vigorously side to side for 2 full minutes.
  7. Carbonate with CO₂. See instructions below.
  8. Refrigerate minimum 12 hours before first service.
  9. Serve ~6 oz over ice. Garnish with fresh lime wheel and fresh mint.
  10. Reshake before every service period — Concord grape juice settles.

Pro move: Use Concord grape juice (not standard red grape) — the Concord variety has a distinct, slightly musky depth that's the signature of a real Transfusion. Reshake before every service period; grape juice settles in the keg and the first pours will taste light and thin if you don't. This is the cocktail that owns the golf course — serve it and you'll be back next year.

💨 CO₂ Carbonation — Charging Stone Method
  1. Insert charging stone lid at 45° and spin to align seal. Clamp firmly closed.
  2. Set CO₂ regulator to 20–25 psi.
  3. Connect gray/silver Cornelius connector to center plug of charging stone lid.
  4. Pull up pressure release ring 30 times quickly. Release between each pull.
  5. Refrigerate 24 hours. Cold liquid absorbs carbonation better.
  6. Once cold: pull pressure release ring 30 more times.
  7. Test flow. Reduce to 15 psi if foamy. Maintain 20–25 psi without foam.
